Is Toronto a Dark Horse of Amazon HQ2 Project?

Toronto, Canada, is the only non-US city to be 20 finalists for its second major headquarters(HQ2) of Amazon. Many American press reported that Toronto is emerging as the dark horse of the Amazon HQ2 project.

Toronto is considered the dark horse of the Amazon HQ2 not because it is the only non-US city. Now there are more possibility that Toronto will be selected as the final candidate city due to the US Post's opposition to the Amazon HQ2 project and US President Donald Trump frequently speech of “Amazon is not contributing to US tax revenue.”

But Toronto's weakness is that Toronto is not a US city but a Canadian city. The fact that Toronto has the population of 2.7 million people meets all the criteria required by Amazon, makes it the final candidate city, but it is also the biggest weakness that it is not an American city. 

If Amazon left the United States, how many would Americans accept it? It is clear that 19 US cities will blame the Amazon at the same time.
